Computers are by far one of the best devices to have been invented by man as they help in speeding up many daily activities. In spite of this, there have been times when users the world over have found their computer going slow. If you are one such a customer, chances are that you are tempted to go to the software market and pick out software that claims to help speed up your computer. While such softwares might work, many a times, the most common cause for such computer lag is due to the underperformance of the hardware. If after the installation of new software, you still find that your computer lags, it might be time for you to think about some hardware changes.
Always make sure that the RAM installed in your computer is adequate and is capable of meeting any functional and memory requirements. At the same time, also make sure that you have a large enough hard disk. If the capacity of your hard disk is not adequate, you will find your system lagging as there is not enough space to store all essential data. The only option that you would have is to go in for a larger hard disk. Also verify the rotation per minute (RPM) of the hard disk. Although a hard disk with 7200 RPM is efficient, a faster spinning hard disk would be better.
If you still find no change in system performance of your computer after these two upgrades, the last option you would have is to upgrade your processor. The processor is what controls every function of the computer, including when it sleeps and wakes up. By having an enhanced processor, your computer would definitely speed up. The only disadvantage with upgrading your processor is that it is quite expensive and might also involve you having to upgrade your motherboard.
