It all started with mobile phones. Initially, the main intention of mobile phones, was the possibility to phone. But very quickly the technology has been developed more and more and a lot of features have been incorporated into mobile phones within the last years. This was followed by SMS function and email function as well as the possibility of using the phone to hear the favorite radio station. But that is nothing new today!

But now it seems, that there develops a whole new market that relates to watches which could be used as a radioplayer, too. Watches, with an inbuilt radio functionality!
Watches have behind a similar evolution like mobile phones. Starting with hand-made movements, later digitally and with exact time in consultation with the atomic clock or equipped with stopwatch, date, and many other functions.
Now, several well-known watch manufacturers work on models which not only can show the exact time, but also play your favorite radio stations.

High-qualitiy sound out of the watch

The radio stations can be received with an antenna that is integrated in the movement and bracelet. On the back of the movement are some small built-in speakers with which you can listen to the radio stations.
As some developers report, the watchmakers are working on specific small, high-quality speakers that can give up an excellent sound out of the watch. The receipt of the watch, however, can only handle the normal FM frequencies.
It remains to be seen, what watchmaker brand will bring the first “radio-watch” on the market, however, this could be indeed a new trend!
